The second drop down box for applying labels in GMail has been removed this functionality has been placed where it belongs in the ‘More Actions…’ drop down box. This keeps all of the actions in a single place instead of always having the labels drop down changing position on the screen. It started on the right hand side when there was a list of messages and moved to the end of the subject when viewing a message. Depending on subject length the box would then shift position.

Unfortunately they didn’t also move the labels that have been applied to a message elsewhere. These remain after the subject of an e-mail and are prone to changing position depending on the length of a subject.
